Earth Day, Make the Earth Greener

2020-04-22

Today, we are celebrating the 51st Earth Day. We have never stopped our efforts to protect our homeland and pursue harmonious coexistence between human being and nature.

Twenty years ago, Reignwood Pine Valley was known as one of the five major sandstorm hazard areas of Beijing. Since 1995, Reignwood Group has carried out 25 years of ecological restoration, environmental greening and landscaping construction, and has turned the previous 6,499 acres of wasteland into a green park.

Previously, the land where Reignwood Dali Cultural Tourism Project is located was deforested and developed. In 2017 Dali Cultural Tourism Project was established in this area to work on ecological agriculture and carry out actions to make the mountain greener, in turn facilitating the “Seven Actions” of protecting Erhai Lake. Now this place has gradually become a picturesque and idyllic place desired by all.

Since May 2019, Reignwood Dali started to plant the world endangered and rare species –yew, which is an ancient species left over from the Quaternary glacier. Since the yew is an evergreen, it can not only effectively solves the barren conditions of Haidong town of Dali in winter, but also releases oxygen 24 hours a day, absorbing sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide and other harmful gases that cause the greenhouse effect and threaten species diversity. Therefore it is dubbed the “Giant Panda” in the plant kingdom.

The yew has been growing on the earth for 2.5 million years, and its tree age can reach more than 5,000 years. It is a national first-grade rare protected tree species. The protection of rare species is to protect the future of the earth. In 2020, Reignwood Group is planning to build Asian Health Corridor by connecting the health industries from Thailand of ASEAN, Dali, Beijing and Hubei province of China.?

The Reignwood VOSS mineral water project has established a sewage treatment station in strict accordance with the Class A standard of the Pollutant Discharge Standards for Urban Sewage Treatment Plants (GB18918-2002) and has built an artificial wetland. In September 2018, the VOSS water source was rated as a green mine mountain by the Land and Resources Bureau of Zhuxi County.

In 2019, the "Elephant Family" sculpture funded by Reignwood Culture Foundation was displayed at a cultural event at Ten Trinity Square, London, to promote the importance of coexistence between humans and wildlife and to raise people’s awareness of protecting the forest habitat, thus contributing to the harmonious coexistence of man and nature.

Saving electricity, green travel ... Every little move has the power to "save" the planet. Stop unsustainable growth and treat every tree kindly to jointly create a healthier Earth.
